Watch Our August 2023 Meeting
Watch the Zoom recording from our August meeting. We heard from two sisters from Sisters of Life. The Sisters of Life are women who are in love with Love and captivated by the truth of the beauty of every human person, created in God’s image and likeness. They believe every person is valuable and sacred. Nestled in North Philly, close to Temple University, the Sisters serve women who are pregnant and vulnerable.

OUR PATRON SAINT
St. Junipero Serra
A Franciscan missionary, Saint Junipero Serra is well known as the 18th century founder of a string of California missions. Junipero’s missionary life was a long battle with cold and hunger, with unsympathetic military commanders, and even with danger of death from non-Christian native peoples. Through it all his unquenchable zeal was fed by prayer each night, often from midnight till dawn. He baptized over 6,000 people and confirmed 5,000. He is buried at Mission San Carlo Borromeo, Carmel, and was beatified in 1988. Pope Francis canonized him in Washington, D.C., on September 23, 2015.
