President and CEO
Saint John Vianney Center

David Shellenberger is a healthcare professional and the president and CEO of the Saint John Vianney Center (SJVC), which is located in the Philadelphia suburb of Downingtown.
Founded in 1946, SJVC is the longest running, internationally renowned, and premier behavioral health facility in North America for clergy and religious. SJVC has provided more than 78 years of service to the Church.
David will speak about the pressures and struggles that those in spiritual vocations encounter. Drawing from his extensive experience, including preventative health workshops for Catholic clergy and religious communities nationwide, David will share practical insights and strategies for supporting our Church leaders in their physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being.
David is an inspiring and insightful speaker renowned for his ability to balance deep healthcare expertise with humor and compassionate storytelling, blending health and wellness with spirituality of mind, body, and spirit.
Our speaker is uniquely qualified to address a topic of significance to all who care about the health and well-being of our clergy, our women religious, and our men religious, regardless of the location in which they minister. Our club mission is to pray, to act, and to spread the word about the need for religious vocations. Our additional responsibility is to support those who have already committed their lives to their religious calling — whether newly ordained or professed, 20 to 30 years in, or at the closing stages of their ministries — when confronted by mental wellness and behavioral challenges.
We encourage all to participate in this upcoming all-access meeting and to share this invitation with parishioners, families, and friends with a keen interest in this compelling topic.
