Serra Club of Philadelphia Annual Day with the Phillies – 2025
On September 23,2025 the 100 St.Charles Seminarians and support staff enjoyed the Serra Club of Philadelphia annual day with the Philies baseball team. It’s been a tradition for decades and it’s one of the favorite annual events for both Serra Philadelphia and the seminarians. Seen here are Serra Club of Philadelphia President with his iconic sun hat, next to him Fr. Delacey, former vocation director, Matt Gambino, Catholic Philly editor, and Lou Ferrero, club Secretary and Special Assistant to the President.
Celebrating Our Newly Ordained Priests 2025
The Serra Club of Philadelphia hosted the annual Mass and luncheon in honor of our newly ordained priests, and this year’s celebration was another resounding success. Nearly 100 guests attended the luncheon, with participation from ten Catholic high schools across the Archdiocese. The Mass, celebrated by Bishop Chylinski, was followed by a luncheon that was attended by Bishop Chylinski, Bishop Cook, Father DeLacey, Father English, our Chaplain Monsignor Bolger, and several other clergy, along with members of the Delchester Serra Club.
The five newly ordained priests shared personal reflections on their vocational journeys and answered questions from students and guests, offering a powerful witness of faith and dedication. We extend heartfelt thanks to the event planning committee—Lou Ferrero, Dawn Chism, Patricia Canning, Michael Osowiecki, and Ryan Neff—with special appreciation to Lou Ferrero for his exceptional leadership and support. Gratitude is also extended to all who contributed financially, whether in attendance or in spirit, to ensure the success of this cherished event.
We are deeply moved by the many expressions of appreciation received from bishops, clergy, students, deacons, the newly ordained, and their families. This gathering continues to be a meaningful and hopeful reminder of the Holy Spirit at work in the life of the Church and the importance of supporting vocations.
