The Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter
Father Keyes will describe his journey to the Catholic priesthood as well as the unique challenges and opportunities of serving the Ordinariate and being a married priest in the Latin Church.

Fr. Samuel Keyes was raised a Southern Baptist in Mississippi before following the “Canterbury Trail” into Anglicanism after college. He was ordained as an Episcopal priest, earned his Ph.D. in historical theology from Boston College, and served in several schools and parishes before finally realizing, as he says, that all of the things he liked best about Anglicanism were really Catholic.

Father Keyes and his family were received into the Full Communion of the Catholic Church in 2019. After two years of formation, he received dispensation from the Holy See to be ordained a Catholic priest in 2021. Until 2023, he was chaplain at the “Catholic Answers” media ministry (catholic.com) and professor of theology at John Paul the Great Catholic University, both in the San Diego area. Most recently, he was appointed pastor of St. John the Baptist parish in Bridgeport, Pa., a parish of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter. Father Keyes lives in Bridgeport with his wife and six children.

This is a quarterly open-access meeting, welcoming all. We invite you to invite others who are interested in meeting Father Keyes and learning more about the Ordinariate.
